The Economic Community of West African States Mission in The Gambia (ECOMIG), in collaboration with the Gambia Dermatology and Family Support (GDFS), recently wrapped up a successful breast cancer awareness campaign across New Yundum, Brikama, and Bwiam.
This initiative aimed to educate communities about the importance of early detection and promote healthier lifestyles.
Throughout the campaign, participants attended informative sessions on breast cancer risks, signs, and preventative measures. Medical professionals also offered free screenings, consultations, and resources to increase awareness and support those affected by the disease. The campaign received a positive response, reflecting the community’s eagerness to learn and prioritize health.
With rising awareness of breast cancer’s impact, ECOMIG and GDFS aim to continue collaborating on health initiatives that benefit local communities, fostering a more informed and proactive approach to healthcare.
