Alieu Loum Appointed Deputy Chief of Staff at the Gambian Presidency

Alieu Loum, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Public Service, has been appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, effective immediately.

 

In his new role, Mr. Loum will oversee the tracking and reporting of National Government Priorities, Projects, Programs, and Presidential Directives. He will address challenges within government initiatives and conduct independent assessments to ensure accurate reporting on ongoing projects. Additionally, he will promote awareness of national achievements through digital and print media and assist in Cabinet proceedings alongside the Secretary to the Cabinet and the Head of the Civil Service.

 

Mr. Loum will also continue to supervise the Department of Strategic Policy and Delivery, where he previously served as Director General before becoming Permanent Secretary.

 

Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Loum expressed gratitude, stating, “It is all about trust and confidence President Adama Barrow has bestowed on me, and I will try to deliver as expected.”
