Derby County midfielder Ebou Adams has been selected for the Gambian national team as they prepare for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Adams, a key player for Derby County in the current Sky Bet Championship season, has featured in all 14 matches so far. He signed with Derby permanently this season after a successful loan period from Cardiff City last year.
The midfielder will join his Gambian teammates on Monday, November 11, ahead of two critical AFCON qualifying games: against Comoros on Friday, November 15, and against Tunisia on Monday, November 18.
Gambia currently sits in third place in Group A. Tunisia leads with seven points, followed by Comoros just one point behind. Gambia and Madagascar are tied with four points each, making these upcoming matches essential for Gambia’s qualification hopes.
Since his debut in 2018, Adams has been a regular for Gambia. In this qualifying campaign, he played in a 1-1 draw against Comoros and appeared as a substitute in a narrow 2-1 loss to Tunisia in September. Last month, he was also part of a 1-1 draw and a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in a double-header that kept Gambia’s qualification chances alive.
