Forex Bureau Staff Remanded for Allegedly Faking Robbery in Kalagi

A staff member of Yonna Forex Bureau in Kalagi, Amadou M. Jawo, has been remanded in custody along with his alleged accomplice, Alieu Sanyang, after being charged with staging a fake robbery at the bureau.

According to the police, the incident occurred on April 25 when officers responded to a report of a robbery. Jawo was discovered lying on the floor of his office with his mouth tied, claiming he had been attacked and robbed.

However, initial investigations revealed no signs of injury, and medical personnel at Bwiam General Hospital confirmed that Jawo was unhurt. Further inquiry uncovered that he had allegedly staged the scene with Sanyang’s help to cover up the disappearance of D140,000 from the bureau.
