During the 81st session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Ambassador Khaled Aref met with Gambian officials to discuss cooperation between Egypt and Gambia in the fields of healthcare and fisheries.
Ambassador Aref highlighted Egypt’s advancements in the pharmaceutical industry, expressing readiness for collaboration and sharing that Egyptian pharmaceutical companies plan to enter the Gambian market.
Gambian Health Minister Ahmadou Samateh praised the reputation of Egyptian doctors and the high quality of Egyptian medicines. He proposed establishing a pharmaceutical factory in Gambia, offering support and facilitation to Egyptian companies.
Additionally, Gambian Minister of Water Resources Musa Drammeh expressed interest in exchanging expertise in fishing and fisheries, which Ambassador Aref welcomed, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to supporting Gambia in various sectors.
