The Gambia Transport Union (GTU) has announced that its elective congress will take place on Saturday at the Serekunda East Mini Stadium, in the Semega Janneh Hall.
During the congress, members will elect a leader for the next five years, marking a significant milestone for the union since its establishment in 2019.
The current president, Omar Ceesay, has confirmed his intention to seek a second term. However, it remains unclear if other candidates will contest for the leadership position in this election, which is a first for the union.
