The inaugural edition of the Gambia Youth League Cup 2025 began with thrilling games, wrapping up its first week of matches on Sunday, January 12, at the Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum.
One of the standout games featured Team Menmar and Medina United, who delivered a fast-paced 1-1 draw. Despite dominating possession and creating multiple opportunities, Team Menmar struggled to convert their chances. Medina United seized the lead in the 65th minute, but their advantage was short-lived as Team Menmar equalized just three minutes later. The match ended with both teams showcasing exceptional skills and teamwork.
A total of 17 goals were scored across five matches during the opening week, averaging an impressive three goals per game. The excitement continues as week two is scheduled to take place from Friday, January 17, to Sunday, January 19, featuring another five matches.
