A refugee believed to be from The Gambia was discovered near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border on Saturday, appearing severely beaten and malnourished.
According to reports, the unidentified man had no documents or personal belongings when he was found by Belarusian border guards. He was in distress, requesting food and water, and complained of severe leg pain and multiple injuries.
The man alleged that Lithuanian authorities had assaulted him before forcing him across the border into Belarus. He was given first aid and later transported to a hospital for further medical care. Initial examinations revealed multiple bodily injuries, including a closed head injury.
Medical professionals are now assessing his condition to determine the extent of his injuries and provide the necessary treatment.
