NANTA Plans Training Tour to The Gambia for Members’ Professional Development

The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) is organizing a training and refresher program for its members in Banjul, The Gambia.

Led by NANTA President Yinka Folami, the initiative is aimed at enhancing members’ expertise in the travel trade sector. Folami emphasized during a recent event in Lagos that the program is designed to empower members with the skills and exposure needed to succeed in the fast-evolving travel industry. He added that the trip also offers an opportunity to explore new income streams and stay competitive.

Folami described the upcoming Banjul training as a continuation of a strategic growth plan launched two years ago.

It builds on the foundation laid by NANTA’s previous leadership, which partnered with the University of Johannesburg and other African tourism stakeholders for the first round of training.

The new program aims to open doors to untapped opportunities within Africa’s tourism and travel value chains. According to Folami, the training is not a social event but a critical step toward long-term development for members and their businesses.

He encouraged all members to treat ongoing training as a core part of their professional journey, noting that NANTA prioritizes purposeful development over frivolity. He also warned that any member who fails to participate in the May 2025 program may miss out on significant growth benefits.

The training team is already prepared, and the event will also serve to promote Nigerian tourism and strengthen regional collaboration. Folami urged interested members to contact the NANTA secretariat before the registration deadline in two weeks.
