Zimbabwe made history by setting a new world record for the highest score in men’s T20 international cricket, amassing 344-4 against The Gambia in Nairobi, Kenya.
Leading the charge, captain Sikandar Raza smashed an unbeaten 133 from just 43 balls, which included seven fours and 15 sixes.
The dominant performance saw Zimbabwe claim victory by an extraordinary 290 runs, bowling out The Gambia for just 54 runs. This stunning achievement shattered the previous world record of 314-3, set by Nepal against Mongolia.
Raza’s remarkable century came off just 33 balls, equalling the second-fastest T20I century. Tadiwanashe Marumani (62 off 19), Clive Madande (53 not out off 17), and Brian Bennett (50 off 26) also contributed with half-centuries, propelling Zimbabwe to the record total.
In response, Brandon Mavuta (3-10) and Richard Ngarava (3-13) led the bowling attack, ensuring a comprehensive victory. Zimbabwe’s win secures their place in the final round of the Africa qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
