The Gambia Police Force has confirmed an increase in the death toll from the recent Kafuta accident to four. The tragic incident occurred when a truck reportedly veered into a crowd of football fans in Kafuta on Sunday.
Police spokesman Cadet Momodou Musa Sisawo reported that several injured victims were treated and discharged from Brikama Health Centre, while 24 others remain hospitalized at Ndemban Clinic.
The truck driver, a 30-year-old male, is currently in police custody and is expected to face court proceedings soon. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on the condition of the hospitalized victims.
