Hibernian Strengthen Midfield with Signing of Alasana Manneh

Hibernian have secured the signing of Gambian midfielder Alasana Manneh from Danish club Odense Boldklub. The 26-year-old joins the Scottish Premiership side on a three-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

A product of Barcelona’s academy, Manneh has played for the club’s youth and B teams. His career has included loan spells in Spain and Bulgaria before a permanent move to Poland’s Górnik Zabrze in 2019. After three years in the Polish top flight, he moved to Denmark, where he experienced both top-tier football and relegation with Odense last season.

This season, Manneh has played 18 matches, contributing seven assists and helping Odense lead the Danish second tier by eight points.

Hibernian had been tracking Manneh as his contract was set to expire in the summer. They reached an agreement with Odense, allowing him to join immediately, pending international clearance.

Head coach David Gray praised Manneh’s competitiveness, technical ability, and experience at a high level, highlighting his addition as a key reinforcement in midfield. Sporting director Malky Mackay emphasized the club’s focus on adding quality over quantity during the transfer window.
