The Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG) has taken legal action by filing 14 new drug-related cases in courts across the country.
According to Ousman Saidybah, the agency’s Public Relations Officer, 11 of the cases involve drug possession while 3 are tied to drug trafficking offenses. The arrests span various locations, including Kitty and Nyofeleh in the West Coast Region.
During the reporting period, 31 male suspects were apprehended in connection with a total of 26 separate drug-related incidents.

Cannabis sativa: 38 bundles, 18 parcels, 215 wraps, and other quantities
Cannabis resin (hashish): 7 wraps and 7 pieces
Kush: 124 wraps and unspecified quantities
Skunk: 4 medical plastic bags
Ecstasy: 121 pills
Cocaine: found in 32 wraps and other amounts
The agency’s latest actions reflect its continued efforts to combat the spread and trafficking of illicit drugs within the country.
