Gambia Rises to 4th Most Peaceful Country in Africa

The Gambia has earned recognition as the 4th most peaceful country on the African continent, according to the latest Global Peace Index for 2025. The annual ranking evaluates 163 countries using 23 indicators, including levels of safety, conflict, and military presence.

 

Globally, The Gambia placed 55th, marking a significant achievement and highlighting the country’s steady progress toward long-term peace and stability.

 

In response to the ranking, national leaders expressed pride and gratitude. The Ministry of Information described it as “a proud moment” and praised the Gambian people for their resilience, unity, and dedication to peace. The statement encouraged citizens to continue nurturing the harmony that has come to define the nation.

 

This recognition not only underscores the country’s peaceful environment but also serves as a hopeful sign for its future development and international standing.
