Johnvents Group has taken a big step in its mission to strengthen food security across Africa. The company just completed its largest shipment yet of high-quality rice—known as Johnvents Rice—delivered straight to Senegal.
This move marks Johnvents’ official entry into the rice market and sets the stage for expansion into The Gambia and other African countries.
The rice, sourced from Pakistan—one of the world’s top rice exporters—is part of the company’s long-term plan to build sustainable and reliable agricultural value chains across the continent.
“We’re excited to launch Johnvents Rice, and there’s no better place to begin this journey than in Senegal and Gambia,” said Sanjay Puhorit, Head of Business at Johnvents DMCC. “Our goal is to bring premium food to the people who need it most, using our global expertise and deep local understanding.”

Johnvents says this development is part of a broader strategy to scale its business operations across key sectors—like fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail, agro-processing, and export trading—in markets across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
With this bold step, the company not only introduces a new product but also strengthens its commitment to feeding Africa through dependable, affordable, and sustainable food solutions.
