Public Urges Update on Officer Accused of Stripping and Blackmailing Couple

Over a month after police announced the arrest of an officer accused of misconduct in Senegambia, the public continues to demand updates on the case. The officer, identified as Sergeant Gibba, was accused of detaining a couple at Lemon Creek Beach under the guise of enforcing decency laws.

Reports indicate that the officer forced the couple to strip naked, recorded them on video, and threatened to release the footage unless they paid him D30,000. The couple allegedly paid D7,000 on the spot and later transferred an additional D10,000, promising to pay the remainder.

However, they eventually reported the incident to the Senegambia police. With the cooperation of law enforcement, the couple arranged a meeting with the officer in Lamin, leading to his arrest. Despite assurances from the police that a thorough investigation was underway, there have been no public updates on the case, fueling public concern.

Efforts to obtain information from the police have been unsuccessful. Authorities stated they are currently occupied with events related to a visit by the Senegalese police chief and promised updates Lemon Creek Beac afterward.
