Three Gambian Migrant Workers Go Missing in Spain

Three Gambian workers from the first group sent to Spain under the new labour agreement between the two countries have gone missing, the Ministry of Employment has confirmed.

The disappearance happened on July 27, 2025. Officials say the men—identified as Foday Marega, Seedia Kebbeh, and Demba Keita—failed to report for work since July 28 and also missed their scheduled appointments to process work and residence permits.

Authorities are urging the trio to return to the farm immediately and complete the necessary documentation. The ministry also reminded future participants in the programme to follow the rules outlined in the agreement, so that more Gambians can benefit from the opportunity.
